This is normally after a reboot. zsh: corrupt history file /home/george/.zsh_history This prevents searching back through the history with CTRL+R and editing previous commands with fc. You can edit zsh_history with any editor to delete unneeded commands or simply delete the file to get rid of the whole history file, which will then be re-created with the next command you issue.
