Thinking that with this long of barrel I may be able to go as slow on burn rate as the RL26 that I have been testing in other calibers, especially with the 150lrab. Sep 24, 2017 · Ever heard of Alliant Reloder 23? Or Reloder 26? These two relatively new European-produced Reloder propellants were introduced in 2014. Most folks haven't tried these Reloder powders because it took quite a while for the first shipments of RL 23 and RL 26 to arrive in the USA.
RL23 will give you the same speeds as RL26, but without the fliers or temp stability issues that can be seen at times with RL26. Honestly, you're getting what you should with the 160gr bullets, so I wouldn't mess with it. Plus, H4831 is very very temp stable and the "gold standard" in the 280AI.

Aug 19, 2016 · I've got 3 different bullets coming, 175 ELD-X, 180 Berger Hunting VLD, 183 Sierra MK. I'm thinking RL26 or N560 and the Hornady 175 ELD-X will be what gets tried first. Still probably at least 6+ weeks away from even being close to putting anything downrange though.
